Introduces Wimba Web Conferencing Tool |
IVN has launched Horizon Wimba’s Live Classroom and Voice Tools
solutions
to further enhance distance education capabilities to the state’s university
system campuses. Both products will be available at the 11 campuses of the university
system as well as NDSU Extension.
Wimba Live Classroom enables instructors to add vital interaction to courses,
including live online classes, office hours, guest lectures, and webcasts. It
can also be used for training programs or meetings for university system faculty,
staff or administrators. Wimba currently integrates with course management software
Blackboard and WebCT.
Voice Tools enables faculty and students to add voice to email, discussion boards,
chat, announcements, and content within web pages.
As technology constantly changes, IVN continues to seek out other collaborative
tools and resources that will compliment one another and enhance learning outcomes.
IVN will provide training and other support services for those NDUS campuses
that wish to implement Wimba.
